 I was a puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence  Pups are placed in the care of a puppy raiser for 18 months, socializing and training them to become Service Dogs. Check out their site for donations. I cared for Richmond and Kuma. 

During Hurricane Katrina, my staff and I offered our assistance with donating pet food. blankets and crates, as well as rescuing almost 15 dogs and bring them back to our store location, bathed them, fed them and sought out forever families for them.
